Fake News on Jahangirpuri violence

No Saffron Flags were installed on the Mosque at Jahangirpuri

The entire Left-Liberal (LeLi) gang has immediately started creating a narrative that the attacks on Hanuman Jayanti processions by Muslim miscreants was a result of “Hindutva terror” elements trying to hoist a flag on the mosque at Jahangirpuri, Delhi.

As the news of violence started reaching out to people over news channels on 16th April 2022 evening, pretty quickly the entire LeLi cabal started building narratives. How strong is the cabal can be ascertained by the timestamps of tweets of “journalists” working overtime to build a narrative that the fault and thus the blame lies with Hindus who tried to hoist a saffron flag at the mosque.

The very first tweet in this narrative by done by Amit Pandey (Twitter: @yuva_journalist, writes for NewsLaundry, Vice, Article14, Quint, Carvan, etc). The tweet was done at 12:41 AM on 17th April 2022, just as people would be sleeping and squarely put the blame on Hindus carefully using the word “alleged”…

In the morning at 10:01 AM, yet another Hindustan Times “journalist” – Hemani Bhandari (Twitter: @HemaniBhandari, formerly wrote for The Hindu and Indian Express) tweeted with similar visuals (saffron flags scattered near the mosque) and tried to approportionate the blame on Hindus again…

This was enough for the entire LeLi ecosystem to start retweeting and spreading the blame, to make Hindus feel “guilty” for the attack on themselves. Publications like The Wire kept on spreading the fake narrative even on 19th April 2022, despite Delhi CP Delhi clarifying that it was not the case on 18th itself.

While the LeLi publications and individuals continued building the narrative, the “so-called fact-checkers” also played along. Mohammed Zubair, one of the co-founders of Alt News, the long discredited fact-checking portal, started his devious work in a couple of hours and shortly after 12:36 PM, he started tweeting a series of tweets, mostly taken from Amit and Hemani and putting them in his own words.

While some alternate voices on twitter were able to pull out the real reason behind the riots. Thanks to Pradeep Bhandari of Jan Ki Baat and his fearless reporters who got the truth out.

The real reason – how dare Hindus carry out a procession of their Gods in front of a Mosque. Because “There is no God, but Allah” (لا إله إلا الله), so how can they tolerate anyone claiming anything else to be a God? That’s Kuffar!

A day later on 18th April 2022, Delhi CP Rakesh Asthana also clarified that the narrative of flags installed on mosque was fake and that anyone spreading misinformation will not be spared (only if that deterred the likes of The Wire publishing a fake news to the same effect on 19th)

CONCLUSION: The claim that the Jahangirpuri violence that took plan on 16th April 2022 was because of Hindus trying to hoist a saffron flag on a mosque is COMPLETELY FALSE.
